Oh Joy

July 31, 2009 at 11:15 am (Sleep, Summer)

This morning I answered the phone to hear a recorded message from my town, telling me that during the week of August 3, they will be doing some sort of repair work “in your neighborhood”. Starting at 5 a.m. in order to “minimize traffic interruptions.”

I can’t tell you how pleased I was to receive this message, because it’s not like sleep is dear to me or anything.

On the bright side, though, at least they told us!  I can’t count the number of times I composed an angry letter to the editor in my head, soundly chastising the administration at school for not informing the residents of my dorm of the construction and what not that took place in our courtyard during the last year.

Anyway, if I’m cranky during the next week, now you know why!

Allergies

July 25, 2009 at 3:39 pm (Uncategorized)

When my parents informed me this morning that we would all be working outside today, I promptly took a Claritin. And yet I am still suffering from allergies. Granted, it’s not as bad as normal, but still. I hate allergies.

And on that note, I think I’m allergic to the fabulous wool blanket we have in our living room. Allergic as in it not only makes me sneeze and have watery eyes, but it also gives me a rash on my legs. Seriously. Next thing you know, I won’t be able to do anything without doping myself up with multiple allergy medications! Not. Cool.

Breaking News!

There is an accordion player playing outside my house right now. I’m guessing they’re looking to hitchhike, but there’s a cop right there directing traffic because some repairs are going on on the wires right now, so I’m not sure how successful s/he’s going to be. But the music is nice.
