Addicted to the Internet

November 24, 2007 at 4:59 pm (Uncategorized)

Yes, I am totally and utterly and completely addicted to the internet. This might be bad…

How did I finally come to this realization, you ask? Well, I shall tell you. It’s quite simple, actually. It’s not the fact that my roomates have commented on my internet usage. It’s not the fact that el boyo has pointed out that I might want to tone down my internet usage. It’s not the fact that I am able to, completely unintentionally, waste almost 2 hours on the internet when I am supposed to be writing a paper. It’s not one of a multitude of other small observations.

No, the tipping point is the fact that every single time I pick up my computer, the very first thing I do in click on the icon for Internet Explorer. I am currently on vacation, and my computer is not connected to the internet, so I’ve been borrowing another computer that actually lives in this house, and thus actually connects to the internet. However, the instant I pick up my computer, I open up a browser window, even though I know that I have no internet connection. This also happened on the train ride here, when there was absolutely no chance whatsoever that I had internet.

So there you have it: I am addicted to the internet. And I’m not planning on doing anything about it anytime soon!
