More Specialer Fireworks!

July 5, 2007 at 8:08 pm (Holidays)

So yesterday was the 4th of July, as I’m sure everyone knows. Usually my family is down at the beach with some friends of the family and there are fireworks on the beach. To tell the truth, I usually stayed at the house with the dog, and listened to the fireworks and kinda just enjoyed the quiet time to myself. I just never liked crowds I guess. Or my family, to a certain extent. But anyway, the point of this little trip down memory lane is that this year, we did not go down to Bethany (we’re going next week) instead staying home for the first time in literally years.

I was planning on a fun-filled evening (or rather, lack thereof) with my parents and my brother. Instead, my wonderful friend Jillian calls me up, which I admit I ignore cause I’m in the middle of a good book, and she berates me for not picking up (“what if it had been el boyo?” well, I still wouldn’t have picked up, cause its a really good book!) and then tells me to call. Because I tend to hate the phone, when I finished my book, I got online, discovered she was on, and we talked. After all that, we made plans to go over to her house, have pizza, and watch Disney movies with Olivia and Toby. and Mittens of course. Can’t forget Mittens!

So we ordered the pizza (chicken and artichokes – it was actually pretty good – my father would be so proud!) and watched Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, without a doubt, my two favorites. So we watched, and sang along, though I think I was the least talented voice in the room, I still knew every single word to every single song (ish).

And we had our own fireworks! Our own, more specialer fireworks! Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin both include fireworks (at the end and during A Whole New World respectively). And they are set to music! And it was raining outside last night, even pouring at times, but we were inside and warm! Aaand we got to see Chinese fireworks! So yes, I think this turned out to be a most wonderful 4th of July when all was said and done. Let’s see what next year brings, shall we?

I can’t believe that you don’t go out to see the fireworks with your family.
